Center for Cross-Strait Advanced Materials (Hereinafter referred to as the Center), established in April 2012 in Xiamen University, was co-founded jointly by Chinese Materials Research Society, Taiwan Materials Research Society, and organized by Xiamen University. It aims to promote the academic communication in the field of materials across Taiwan Straits. With Xiamen University as its platform, the Center follows key national demands and centers on material innovation, aiming to promote the development of material research and related industries by enhancing academic communication and collaboration across Taiwan Straits. It mainly focuses on: (1) organizing high-level academic seminars regarding the advanced materials across Taiwan Straits; (2) hosting national and international academic conferences on material science; (3) carrying out communication and collaboration between scholars in the field of materials and research institutions; (4) launching exhibitions and trade fairs on new materials across Taiwan Straits. In addition, the Center hosted “The 1st Cross-Strait Symposium on Advanced Materials” in 2012.
